Science is a systematic undertaking that builds knowledge through, and organizes information in the form of, testable predictions, mathematized patterns, and quantitative relationships among operationalized concepts. The object of scientific knowledge involves observation and experience, and thereby its purpose is to give some causal account of phenomena and events in terms of an ontic study of composition and structure. For this reason, science tends to have a starting bias towards naturalism, physicalism, materialism, substance monism, determinism, and formalism.
